Choosing the Right Presentation Software

Choosing the Right Presentation Software for Your Church

Carl Barnhill

In today’s digital age, the way we present the gospel can significantly impact how it is received. Choosing the right presentation software for your church is essential to effectively communicate your message.

Visuals play a crucial role in engaging the congregation and enhancing the worship experience.

Here’s a guide to help you make an informed decision, along with an overview of some popular options, their benefits, costs, and tips for using them.

Factors to Consider

  • Ease of Use: The software should be user-friendly, especially for volunteers who may not have a technical background.
  • Compatibility: Ensure the software is compatible with your existing hardware and operating systems (Mac, PC, etc.).
  • Features: Look for features that meet your church’s specific needs, such as multiple outputs, live video input, and remote control capabilities.
  • Cost: Consider your budget. Some software options have a one-time purchase cost, while others require a subscription.
  • Support and Updates: Reliable customer support and regular updates are crucial for smooth operation.

ProPresenter

  • Benefits: ProPresenter is considered the industry standard for church presentation software. It offers a wide range of features, including multiple outputs, live video input, NDI support, and robust stage display options. It is compatible with both Mac and PC.
  • Cost: ProPresenter recently moved to a subscription based model with monthly prices and a discount to that when you pay yearly.
    $29/mo (per seat) – $289/yearly (per seat)
    $59/mo (20 seats) – $649/yearly (20 seats)
They also have a designated number of “seats” which allows the number of work stations to run the presentation software off of the same payment plan.
  • Tips: Utilize the free version for creating presentations and only use the licensed version for live presentations. Be cautious with updates; test them on a non-production machine first.
