How Union Church Uses Visuals to Prepare Hearts

How we help a fast-growing church visually communicate the Gospel.

The Creative Challenge

Union Church, led by Senior Pastor Adam Cook, is a growing, multi-campus church rooted in Danville, Virginia, and Yanceyville, North Carolina. Union Church exists to reach unchurched people in a historically underserved, post-industrial community with the hope of the Gospel.

As the church continues to grow, their creative needs have grown with it. Sermon series visuals were being created in-house, sourced from multiple places, or assembled last-minute – resulting in inconsistency, stress, and a lack of clear visual identity. The teaching was intentional and deeply biblical, but the visuals didn’t always reflect the clarity, energy, or direction of what God was doing in the life of the church.

The challenge was clear:
Create a consistent, custom visual system for sermon series and events that would support long-term planning, energize volunteers, and help Union Church speak the visual language of today’s culture – without losing their theological depth or local identity.

Our Work for Union Church

Union Church’s Know Your Enemy sermon series explored the real and subtle ways the devil tempts and derails believers. To help bring the message to life, we created a full suite of custom visuals, including sermon series graphics, social media assets, a dynamic series trailer, and engaging sermon bumpers. Each element was designed to capture attention, set the tone, and help the congregation connect with the truth of God’s Word on spiritual warfare.

Union Church’s Feed the Beast sermon series challenged the congregation to examine the daily choices that shape their spiritual lives. Drawing from the powerful illustration of the two wolves, the series called believers to intentionally feed what leads to life in Christ and starve what pulls them away. To support the message, we created a cohesive set of custom visuals – including sermon series graphics, sermon bumpers, and supporting media – designed to reinforce the theme, set the tone each week, and help the church visually engage with the truth of God’s Word in a clear and memorable way.

Our Creative Solution

The Church Visuals team partners with Union Church to become their outsourced creative ministry team – handling custom sermon series design, sermon series bumpers, and supporting media so their staff and volunteers could focus on shepherding people.

Working closely with Adam and Union Church’s leadership, we developed a repeatable creative process that aligned with their year-ahead sermon planning rhythm. Each series begins with intentional theological direction and is translated into a cohesive visual package — setting the tone before a single word is preached.

From bold, high-impact series like Feed the Beast to darker, reflective themes like Know Your Enemy, every visual element is designed to support the message, create emotional engagement, and unify the worship, teaching, and church-wide experience.

The result is clarity, consistency, and momentum – visuals that don’t distract from the Gospel, but help prepare hearts to receive it.
